Formulation action

Ask for two reformulations, not one. The student chooses the most faithful. The gap between the two reveals what remains unclear.

With AI · Request

Follow the protocol without transferring the decision.

Each stage distinguishes what may be requested from AI from what must remain the student’s own decision.

Neutral reformulation
Ask the student to request a faithful reformulation of what they are trying to say, with no addition or removal.
“Here is my text: [paste your text]. Faithfully reformulate what I am trying to say, without adding, removing, judging or improving anything.”
What remains implicit
Look for what the formulation says without stating it. This is often where gaps in the student’s thinking lie.
“Here is my text: [paste your text]. What does this text assume I believe without saying so? List only these implicit assumptions. Do not improve the text.”
Questions that reveal gaps
Ask for the questions an attentive reader would raise. They make missing elements visible.
“Here is my text: [paste your text]. Ask me three questions that an attentive reader would have. Questions only, with no corrections.”
Points to revisit
Use AI to identify the points the student will need to rework afterwards.
“Here is my text: [paste your text]. List only the points I need to revisit or clarify. Do not correct or rewrite anything for me.”

AI embellishes instead of reformulating faithfully. Add: “without judging or improving”.

The student understands more clearly what they were trying to think.
